i know things have been hard for you lately, and i know i have contributed to that. besides that acknowledgement, the outcome of me deciding to write a letter to you is the return of some good memories and warm impressions of both the boy i met and the man you have become. i guess my last time seeing you was under horrendous circumstances. but now that i've seen you again and felt your warmth, i can picture it all clearly. i remember meeting you as a boy who was able to balance being assertive and resolute with a thoughtful, gentle manner. i also went through some of our old chats all the way back from 2019 recently, though i don't know why i would do this since we are both such different people. in many ways, those exchanges revealed exactly why i fell in love with you in the first place: you have always been a caring and intelligent person with a good heart. through all of our interactions, i am certain these qualities remain, and i feel sure that they have guided you in the directions you have found for yourself. while life carries people far away from who they once were, please know that who you once were was always someone of tremendous worth. the discovery of pursuits that have helped make you happy and the talents that all lay within you have added to that gentle and resolute person i once knew, and he is reading this letter right now. while reminiscing, i cant help but express how much of a pleasure it has been to see who you've become. sometimes i see the 17 year old boy i met peek out when you talk passionately about the things you're interested in, or on a day where we're giggling with each other. i only wish i could've met you sooner.

please give my best to your family, and a big special thanks to your mother. it will always be a pleasure to have a [your surname lol] in my life. again, i am so proud you have found yourself and grown as much as you have in the years that have passed since we met. you will always have a cheerleader in me, and i really hope to see you again soon. maybe we can go on a walk!
