hellooo happy monday once again. it's june now which is so odd. halfway through 2026 and nothing has happened in my life. i've been playing a lot of minecraft still. I downloaded a new modpack called homestead and it has been super fun! i learned from my previous vanilla+ world that i find it really hard to fill a big space, so i've made the area that i need to fill much much smaller and i think it has been working out well! right now, i have my home atop a little hill leading down to animal enclosures and a big wheat field. i think it looks really good! i just need to add some sort of decorative display to the centre - i'm thinking gazebo or fountain. not sure.

through this process, i learned that i was lied to by children books and that not every animal lives in the barn. like the red and white stereotypical barn that you think of. i built a barn, and i asked my partner what animals go in there and he was like well none actually! oh great. so none of the animals go in there that's great. i ended up making a coop for the chickens, a little mud pen and shack for the pigs, and a cow house. idfk what that thing is called. i put the sheep in the barn, and there's a horse in there too. i think that works fine. they all have fields outside so they're not neglected! the chicken coop has a redstone setup to collect eggs, and i can flip a lever for a dispenser to hatch all the eggs and kill chickens that spawn to collect feathers and cooked chicken. i thought that was pretty cool! i think it's difficult to have redstone setups for any other animal without them just being in a 1x1 glass cube so i didn't want to do that.

other than that, i have a notes app full of things i want to add to this world at some point. i want to add like a little hole/entrance within one of the mountains that surrounds my house that leads to some sort of underground base thing with storage for build resources, a nether portal, a general room for the modded tables i use (possibly just a general craft room, that would be cute), and an enchanting room. i also need to add villager homes somewhere, but i don't know if i want to give them like a little town that they run stores or stalls in or give them actual little homes. my wheat farm is done, but i need to expand upon that and make farms for other things like beetroot, grapes, carrots, potatoes, tomatoes, etc. and also an orchard because there are apple trees! the mudpack adds new machines for farming as well, so i want to add a sort of "milling" area to put these machines. maybe a windmill or something. not sure. but yeah, there are a lot of things i need to do and i'm super excited to do all of these things! a fishing spot would be nice too, because there are otters (i am infatuated with these things) who can open clams you fish up. i wish you could tame them! i also figured out that the hamsters in the spawn mod are tamed using sunflower seeds, but i literally cannot harvest them from the modded sunflowers whatsoever. i cannot figure it out !!!! it's really irritating, because i keep seeing them and wanting one so bad. grrr...
